This week the Barnsdall Chamber of Commerce met for their second meeting for the month of January and on the agenda for the meeting was a special presentation from Cecilia Hibdon regarding the on-line capabilities of the Barnsdall Library. Unfortunately, Hibdon recently had a death in the family and was unable to make it to the meeting this month, she has rescheduled for the 2nd February meeting.
During the meeting, Lee Perry, Lake Manager from the Army Corps of Engineers discussed several plans for Birch lake in the coming months. Currently, there are plans to hold a Triathlon at Birch Lake in June, Perry would like to set up volunteer work days, and they are working towards incorporating new electric boxes into the camping areas. Additionally, the Corps is looking for volunteers willing to stay at Birch Lake and assist with park maintenance. Volunteers should contact park manager Stan Bell with any questions at (918)396-3170. Upcoming events in Barnsdall include a Red Cross Blood Drive on February 17 from 11am to 5pm, the 50+ Dinner and Bingo Night on February 18 at 5:30pm, and the 4th Annual Lions Club Chili Cook-off on February 20 from 11am to 1pm. The Barnsdall Chamber will meet next on February 9, with a special presentation from Lakeside Chiropractic and Rehab. Comments are closed.
