The Pawhuska Huskies got off to a sluggish start last Friday, leading 6-0 at the end of the first quarter in a home contest against Afton. They quickly turned on the jets and scored 60 points in three quarters of play to get the 66-0 victory. Coach Matt Hennesy hopes this slow start can be a learning experience as Pawhuska moves closer to playoffs.
Despite the cloudy and rainy conditions, Hennesy said this was one of the better weeks of practice the Huskies have had. Hennesy believes having to practice in those conditions will be beneficial for his team as the season progresses. Having had the chance to sit down with junior wide receiver Mason Gilkey, one thing he talked about is how important it will be for his team to come out and play well from the start against Wyandotte Friday night. Friday night's ballgame can be heard on Sportstalk KPGM FM 99.1 and viewed on KPGMTV.com. Kickoff from Pawhuska is scheduled for 7 p.m. Comments are closed.
