The Final Suspect in connection with a grass fire at Hughes Ranch in early February was booked into Osage County Jail last week. 24 year-old James Tonsing surrendered to authorities Thursday morning, Tonsing along with three other suspects were wanted by the Osage County Sheriff's Office in connection with a fire that took place on February 9.
The other suspects in connection with the February fire are 20 year-old Levi Dean Farris of Ochelata, turned himself in on Wednesday, 26 year-old Stephen Land and 30 year-old Heather Land surrendered on March 4. Warrants were issued for the four suspects on March 2. An investigation began when firefighters, responding to the fire, reported seeing a pickup driving on a county road near HWY 123 and a man getting out to spread a fire in a ditch. A court affidavit states that the firefighter caught up with the pickup and confronted one of the men before the group left the scene. Stephan Land, Heather Land, and Levi Farris have been released on a $2,500 bond each, and James Tonsing was released Thursday on a $10,000 bond. Comments are closed.
