Friday morning the Osage County Commissioners held a Special Meeting to accept proposals from Emergency Medical Services wishing to cover the currently vacant Barnsdall and Avant area. Samaritan EMS out of Tulsa originally approached the commissioners earlier this month about providing service, but at the Monday meeting both Bartlesville EMS and Miller EMS wished submit a proposal. The Commissioners held the meeting Friday to offer any perspective Ambulance Services the opportunity to bid.
Bartlesville EMS and Samaritan EMS were the only two services to provide proposals on Friday. Samaritan proposed it would be able to put a full time crew in Barnsdall using the existing Ambulance, which was donated by the Osage Nation, for $18,000 a month. Bartlesville offered to have two vehicles, including the existing truck, with a full time crew for $50,000 a month. The Commissioners accepted the bids, and stated they needed to review their budget and determine where the funds will come from. No action was taken. The Commissioners will meet again for their regularly scheduled meeting on Monday at 10 o'clock. Comments are closed.
