This week at the meeting of the Osage County Board of County Commissioners, the commissioners approved the purchase of a new tractor for District 3, approved the construction of a sand barn for District 2 and discussed the upcoming budget shortfalls.
Kyme Vincent the Osage County Nutrition Program Director spoke to the Commissioners regarding the upcoming fiscal year 2017 budget and the impact it could have on the program. The Nutrition Program is looking at $51,303 or 12.5 percent in funding cuts in the FY17 budget, and the impacts of these cuts could likely effect infrastructure and operations. Vincent said that after working on the books they will end up with around $7,000 in deficit and will be unable to hire additional personnel. According to Vincent the program should be able to fulfill their current responsibilities under the new budget, however, if they take any additional cuts they will need to begin layoffs. The Osage County Board of County Commissioners will meet again next Monday at 9am at the Osage County Courthouse in Pawhuska. Comments are closed.
