All Osage Nation offices are closed until further notice because of exposure to the coronavirus.
The Osage Nation Health Center states that six employees at the Wah-Zha-Zhi Health Center tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday. Additional testing was performed and immediate quarantining went into effect for those employees or others who had close contact with them. At least one of the employees attended a local funeral and the outdoor election event on Monday. Chief Medical Center for the Wah-Zha-Zhi Health Center, Ron Shaw warned that this was possible. If you attended either on of these events, the health center recommends that you monitor any symptoms you may develop. The health center is working with the State Department of Health and the infected individuals to acquire a group of contacts they may have been in contact with. A testing event will take place next week. Event details are forthcoming. If you feel like you have the coronavirus, call 918-287-0028 for more information on how to proceed. The health center remains open, along with the counseling center and the Osage Nation Primary Residential Treatment Center. The Osage Nation Domestic Violence Center can be reached at 918-287-5422.
