The 8-1 Pawhuska Huskies are taking on one of the better teams they have faced this year in the Verdigris Cardinals on Thursday at the Locust Grove Tournament. The Cardinals are the 18th ranked team in Class 4A and they come in to the game with a 6-2 record. Coach Jake Christenson says his team is excited for the challenge.
Christenson has stressed the importance of playing well in tournaments all year long. That is no difference in three day tournament this weekend where they will get to see some excellent competition. With a win, the Huskies would possibly take on the host team in Locust Grove on Friday. Adair, Lincoln Christian and Tahlequah Sequoyah are other featured teams in the tournament.
